ID.me names two dental occupations
ID.me's current medical eligibility list includes Dentist and Dental Assistant. Other dental roles should not be assumed to qualify unless the merchant or verification flow names them.
The retailer can narrow its offer even when an occupation appears on ID.me's general medical list.
NPI and document paths
ID.me's U.S. medical instructions provide an NPI path for eligible providers who have one and a document path for people who do not. A dentist may encounter either route. A dental assistant may be asked for current employment or certification proof when an automatic record is not available.
The form's occupation selection should match the document. Do not use a dentist credential to support another person's eligibility or use a practice affiliation as a substitute for an individual credential when the flow does not allow it.
SheerID programs vary by brand
SheerID lets each brand define the medical audience for its offer. A broad healthcare-worker program may include dental professionals, while another program may omit them. The official merchant page and the verification form are the sources to follow.
Dental students and residents
ID.me currently excludes students from medical-community verification. A dental student should look for a separate student program. Do not assume that the general Resident label on a medical list covers every dental training program unless the merchant or provider confirms it.
